Porton Recognized as an Exemplary Case for Sustainable Development

Porton was recently selected as a "2024 Exemplary Case for Sustainable Development Among Chinese Listed Companies" by the China Association of Public Companies, in recognition of its Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) management practices once again.

Porton

Porton has disclosed its first Social Responsibility Report since 2017 and its inaugural ESG report in 2024, demonstrating continuous improvement in its management and performance in sustainable development. By adhering to the four core ESG concepts—Green Development, Promoting Common Progress, building a Healthy Society, and Enhancing Corporate Governance—Porton is dedicated to integrating ESG into its corporate strategy and operations, aiming for high-quality development.

On one hand, we drive ESG initiatives from top to bottom, having established a comprehensive governance structure that encompasses governance, management, and execution, thus providing institutional support for implementing our ESG efforts. On the other hand, we foster management measures and performance enhancements from bottom to top by creating actionable work plans with ongoing follow-up, identifying gaps for improvement, and conducting ESG training to elevate awareness among our employees.

In 2024, Porton continues to advance the implementation of various management measures and enhance ESG performance. In terms of target commitments, the company has officially submitted its commitment to the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi) in February and is setting up our near-term, science-based greenhouse gas emission reduction target for validation.

Concerning the management system, we have developed and updated policies such as the "Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Policy," "Personal Information Protection Policy," and "Trade Secret Protection Management System" to better manage and oversee related issues. Additionally, our public welfare program, “WeCare,” remains focused on rare diseases such as Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD). We supported families of DMD patients in attending the "13th China Rare Disease Summit Forum" and organized charity bazaars and charity runs.

This year, we conducted multiple ESG training sessions, including those on trade secret protection, anti-fraud measures, water resource management, and ESG management enhancement, to further raise employee awareness.

Looking ahead, Porton plans to further enhance its ESG lifecycle management system by deeply integrating ESG principles into its strategy. This includes optimizing the governance structure, refining goal setting and progress tracking, enhancing performance indicators, improving the quality of disclosures, and collaborating with global partners to promote high-quality and sustainable development.
